Chapter One - Software Settings

Through a series of tutorials, you will learn what is required to install, and prepare your program for use, How to enter in data required, such as Inventory items, Customers and Suppliers, how to create the many transactions you do each day while running your business. As well as generating reports, which include summarizing sales and purchase activity, tax collected on sales, and inventory value.

Preperation and Set-up of Speedy POS Software
Including country settings, customer and supplier profiles, categories, tax set-up, inventory set-up, and form design. (Run Time 3 minutes 35 seconds)

Category Set-up
Categories are groups that will store the inventory you will be selling. As you can sell services as well as products, they too will be held in a Category. (Run Time 6 minute 40 seconds)

Additional Settings
This chapter will focus on additional settings when setting up SpeedyPOS Software. Invoices, Purchase Orders, POS Devices, and Slip Receipts. (Run Time 3 minute 41 seconds)

Default Inventory

Chapter Two - Adding Data
Through a series of tutorials, you will learn what is required to install, and prepare your program for Customers, Inventories, and Suppliers. This chapter is broken into 3 sections, allowing you to select the specific area you need to cover.

Customers

Inventory
Adding inventory into Speedy POS will look at a default record created previously and populate certain area's of the item. The rest will be up to the user to identify. (Run Time 7 minute 28 seconds)

Suppliers
Data entry of supplier information is suggested to benefit from the history tracking it will provide over time. Chapter Three - Inventory
Through a series of tutorials, you will learn what is required to use advanced Inventory Features.

Price Schedules and Discounts
These types of automatic discounts are controlled by price schedules within SpeedyPOS. Price schedules are determined during the setup chapter, which you can refer back to for a review. (Run Time 5 minute 14 seconds)

Sales Dates
Setting of a sale date is completed through the extra tab of an inventory record. This defines the start and end date of the sale for this item. Once the date range has been set, access to the retail section is necessary to ensure correct pricing will take place. (Run Time 5 minute 27 seconds)

Creating Purchase Orders
A purchase order is a document issued by a company to send to a supplier. The PO indicates quantities and agreed prices for products and services. (Run Time 4 minute 38 seconds)

Receiving a Purchase Order
Items received from supplier must be received into inventory. When items are received, stock is adjusted by receive amount and inventory account is increased by the new value. (Run Time 3 minute 26 seconds)

Kits

Inventory Size Matrix

Chapter Four - Point of Sale
In this section of the tutorial we will focus on Point of Sale. Creating Point of Sale transactions is the hub of a retail business. As it will occur frequently, the process of entering a sale should be quick and simple. This tutorial will explore creating various types of POS transactions, applying discounts, and taking payments on account.

Cash Sale
Point of Sale transactions are created from the POS menu item. New sale will be the focus of this session as it is the start of all customer facing activities. (Run Time 3 minute 26 seconds)

Invoice on Account
As a policy, your business may extend credit to your customers, or you may be a wholesaler who deals business to business, and accounts are satisfied at the end of each month by sending out a statement of account. (Run Time 4 minute 47 seconds)

Estimates
Creating an Estimate or Quote, allows the user to prepare a list of requested items, and pricing for the customer, without affecting inventory Quantities. The estimate will be stored, and at a later date, can be recalled to convert into a sale if the customer decides to go ahead. (Run Time 3 minute 32 seconds)

Layaway
A layaway transaction in SpeedyPOS will allow for reserving of Inventory Quantity, and the transaction can be recalled to apply payments, until the layaway is paid in full. This type of transaction is used if the inventory will remain at your location until it is paid in full. (Run Time 5 minute 34 seconds)

ROA Invoices
If your policy is to extend credit to customers, at some point they will send you a check or drop off a payment. As well, if you make use of layaways, numerous payments may be made against a single invoice. (Run Time 6 minute 40 seconds)

Customer Statements
Customer statements show what customers balances are outstanding. (Run Time 3 minute 18 seconds)

Discounting an Invoice
Providing discounts for customer within SpeedyPOS can be automated using price schedules, or a discount can be determined right at Point of sale. Automated discounts would be used for specific groups of customers that qualify for discounts. (Run Time 3 minute 48 seconds)

Returns
If a customer returns product for exchange or refund, at POS a transaction will need to occur to identify the inventory as being returned, or brought back into stock, and any subsequent product relieved of stock. (Run Time 2 minute 59 seconds)

POS Transaction Report
